Evo Affinity Grills Support & Installation

The EVO Affinity 25G and EVO Affinity 30G both work with Matchless Cabinets, but with some limitations and considerations.

The below table details which Grill Cabinet - Patio Line options support the EVO Affinity 25G and EVO Affinity 30G

**Shelf Height refers to distance between the shelf and the top of the cabinet, before countertops

Countertop Requirements

As specified by EVO, your countertops must have a minimum thickness of 3cm, up to 1.25" to allow for the drip tray to be recessed into the countertop, and for the grease trap doors below to be able to open.

If you choose to use countertops thicker than this, your countertop fabricator may need to "notch" the front edge of the counter wider for these doors to clear.

The top of this door (indicated with the yellow arrow) should not be placed above the top of the cabinet wall (indicated by the blue arrow):

Overhangs

The EVO Affinity will sit in the cabinet so that the large, round drip tray may, in some scenarios, overhang either the sides or rear of the cabinet, as shown in the photos below.

In the case of "Side Overhang" you will need a standard cabinet placed on either side of your EVO, or plan on your countertop overhang to extend far enough to surround the drip tray.

"Rear Overhang" also requires your countertops to be extend past the back edge of the cabinet to accommodate this. If placing your run of cabinets against a wall, you will need to offset the cabinet from the wall by the appropriate distance (see below). Filler pieces may be purchased to close the gap between cabinet back and wall at the exposed end of a run of cabinets.

Side Overhang

For the EVO Affinity 25G in a 30" wide cabinet, or an EVO Affinity 30G in a 36" wide cabinet, the drop tray will overhang the cabinet side wall:

Rear Overhang

For the EVO Affinity 30G only, the drip tray will overhang in the rear as shown here:

The amount of overhang depends on how far forward or backward in the cabinet the unit sits. It is recommended to have at least 2.5" of countertop overhang.

Installation

Your Grill Cabinet - Patio Line configured for EVO Affinity will come with two pieces required for install.

EVO-MOUNT-TRIM

To install:

Remove the factory mounting rails that came with your EVO Affinity, and remove the cooking surface and drip tray per the EVO install guide.
Attach the EVO unit to the mount
Place in the cabinet
Place the Grill trim in the opening of the cabinet, flush with the cabinet front (Note, trim is not installed flush in the above photo) and secure with included self-tapping sheet metal screws
Adjust the height of the EVO unit as needed with the leveling feet on the EVO Affinity Mount, to correspond with your countertop plans or any site level issues.
- Fabricate according to EVO documentation

- Install your Matchless Cabinet supplied countertops
  Countertops:
If necessary, create an access hole for your fuel line to the compartment below, using an appropriate drill and hole saw, for aluminum.
Secure the drip tray and cooking surface to the EVO unit

Your countertops should fit tight against the drip tray, preventing the unit from moving in any direction.
